We are only one week away from our fall fundraising event, Rise & Shine for Students!
Please join us at Capital High School's Performing Arts Center the morning of Friday, Oct. 3, for a short program, which will highlight our Principal's Emergency Fund -- and how it is helping students who have urgent basic needs achieve success in school and beyond.

october is last chance to submit 25-26 grants!
McKenny Elementary students play xylophones whose purchase was made possible thanks to donor support of our Opportunity Grants. The grants fund experiences that individual buildings do not have a budget for. "The entire school learned to play the same song at different levels of scaffolding, and I was able to give a visual representation of pitch climbing higher and higher the smaller the xylophones get," said grant recipient and music teacher Heather Matthews.
Cultivate student potential with a Foundation grant!
The final opportunity for district staff to apply for a grant for the 2025-2026 school year is approaching! Requests are due by 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24.
Looking to support a project or experience that will help cultivate student potential at your school? Review our guidelines, get your principal or supervisor's approval, then complete and submit a simple Google Form, available here.
The Foundation's Opportunity Grants support schools in every building in the district with a variety of needs -- from library books to musical instruments, P.E. equipment, special classroom projects -- and so much more.
Opportunity Grant requests may be made in any amount up to $2,000. (Exception: Browsers Books Grants have a limit of $500).
Applicants will be notified of the status of their request by mid-November, and funds will be made available by the end of November.
