  2. Select one category below: opportunity; browsers books; student well-being; diversity, equity & belonging; or school-family organizations.

  3. complete the application and click the submit button!

    • we review requests up to two times throughout the year — or until all budgeted funds are awarded. learn about our timeline here (see page 2).

    • Within 30 days of project completion, write and submit a Post-Grant Report.

opportunity Grants allow our educators to enhance student learning, close opportunity gaps, and meet needs that the District, individual school buildings, and/or school organizations cannot.
Browsers Bookshop offers 10 grants totaling up to $500 each, for the purpose of establishing or building classroom libraries and school libraries. All books must be purchased through Browsers, which offers an educator discount.
if you are seeking support for a project that supports diversity, equity & belonging opportunities, you may now use the opportunity grants application to make that request. (previously, it was a separate application.)

FAQ

  • Teaching & Learning Grants are open to all Olympia School District staff who work directly with OSD students. This includes, but is not limited to, teachers, specialists, paraeducators, counselors, nurses and principals.

    SEL and Mental Health Grants support counselors, social workers, behavior technicians, and restorative justice centers by funding materials and the development of programs that specifically address social/emotional learning and mental health.

  • Grant Requests in all but the Browsers Books Grants are eligible for funding of up to $2,000.

    Browsers Books Grants are up to $500 each.

  • At this time, we are not accepting Grant Requests for professional development.

    You may instead consider: 1) seeking opportunities through Individual Professional Growth Grants (IPGG), which are available to active members of the Olympia Education Association; 2) contacting a building administrator or representative about whether there is a budget for professional development available through your respective department, PTO, or building budget; 3) contacting your respective department head at the district regarding potential funding; or 4) using resources available to you through your negotiated contract.
