Supporting Olympia students, celebrating community, and looking ahead!
Fall is in full swing, and there's plenty happening at Oly Ed Foundation! From inspiring young readers to supporting student well-being and preparing for our upcoming community events, we're grateful for the many ways our schools, volunteers, donors, and community partners make a difference.
A Note from the Executive Director
October has been a busy and exciting month at Oly Ed Foundation!
One of the things I've enjoyed most in my first few months as Executive Director is seeing how many people come together to support Olympia students. From the generosity of our Golf Scramble sponsors and volunteers to the dedication of our school librarians and educators, it's wonderful to see that commitment in action.
As we look ahead to new opportunities and upcoming events, I'm grateful to be part of a community that cares so deeply about its students.
Thank you for being part of it!

Battle of the Books: 1,389 Books and Countless Adventures Ahead!
Get ready to read! Oly Ed Foundation is excited to support another year of Battle of the Books across the Olympia School District.
This year, 1,389 books have been ordered for elementary, middle, and high school students, representing an investment of more than $14,000 in student reading opportunities!
Battle of the Books encourages students to explore new authors, discover great stories, and build teamwork and a love of reading through friendly competition.
Each school organizes its Battle of the Books activities a little differently, with events taking place at various times throughout the school year. Check with your school library for book lists, participation details, and event schedules!
Battle of the Books titles will also be available through Timberland Regional Library and Browsers Bookshop, making it easier for students and families to join the reading fun.
A special thank-you to our community partner, Browsers Bookshop, for its continued support of Oly Ed Foundation's literacy programs, and to our dedicated school librarians who bring Battle of the Books to life each year.
Here's to another great year of reading, imagining, and discovering!
Stay tuned for this year's book lists and more information about the program!
Have an event coming up at your school? Invite us!
We're happy to participate when we can—whether that's bringing an information table, sharing information about Foundation resources, or simply coming out and connecting with your school community.
